Hi,
I'm Lya!
a mom who probably took the job a little too seriously — but in the best way possible, as I always like to say. I carry many skills in my pocket, from basic American Sign Language (ASL), being a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English, to Latin rhythm dance, Digital Fashion Design studies, Cosmetology, Business Administration, and Pharmacy Technician training. But the most important skill I bring into my work is something much simpler: a childhood spirit.
Cosmetology was my primary career while living in Puerto Rico, my hometown, before moving to the United States in 2018. Although it later became my side profession, my passion for people never changed. With over 15 years of experience in retail management, focusing on customer service and team leadership, I developed a deep understanding of responsibility, communication, and care — skills that naturally transferred into my next chapter.
Becoming a mother changed everything.
I always knew that if I ever had the opportunity, I wanted to dedicate myself fully to my child's development — mentally, emotionally, and physically. When that moment came, I asked myself an important question:
"What better way to achieve this than by creating a space where other parents could also experience the same peace of mind I wanted for my own child?"
That is how Eureka Time was born on April 5, 2021, just four months after my daughter was born. By August of that same year, I officially opened my home to families and my heart to their children.
Since then, it has been an incredible journey filled with learning experiences, laughter, tears, nap times, tantrums, diaper changes, and toy-filled rooms. But above everything else, it has been a journey full of hugs, trust, and unconditional love — the kind only children know how to give so freely.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful for every family that has trusted me. What started as a personal mission has grown into a beautiful extended family. At Eureka Time, children are not just cared for — they are nurtured, respected, guided, and loved.
Because here, childcare isn't just supervision.
It's a connection.
Its development.
It's trust.
It's family.
They are our future generation, our future leaders, and we, as their first teachers, carry an immense responsibility that should never be taken for granted.
I hope you enjoy my website, feel free to leave me a message and subscribe for new updates!
