Business Objective and Philosophy
"Eureka Time LLC home daycare was established to provide a nurturing environment akin to home, coupled with a structured learning experience that fosters practical skills essential for self-care in young children. During the crucial first five years of life, we are committed to comprehensively addressing the four core areas of child development.
In addition to our child development focus, we prioritize forming a strong partnership with parents to support them in their parenting journey. We believe in maintaining a healthy bond between children and their parents during their time away from home, thus creating a familial connection that extends to all members, including our caregivers.
Our ongoing goal is to uphold our values of love and home-like care while continuously expanding our services and opportunities. We are dedicated to providing an environment where children can flourish and develop their talents."
License
"Eureka Time LLC Home Daycare operates as a type B daycare, exempt from licensing requirements. However, we are committed to continuously enhancing the quality and scope of our services.
Please take the time to review the valuable information provided at the end of this handbook, as it is designed to ensure the delivery of our high-quality services."
Admissions and Fees
"We require a minimum of two meetings with parents before initiating our services.
The first meeting entails a tour of our facilities and an opportunity for parents to reserve a space for their child. If a space is available or soon to be available, parents can fill out a form to reserve the spot. Please note that there is a non-refundable space reservation fee of $50, which is credited towards the registration day. This fee ensures that the space is reserved for the specified family during the agreed-upon timeframe.
Here is an outline of our reservation process:
- Spaces are reserved based on our waiting list. We prioritize customers in the order in which they fill out the form and pay the fee. Please ensure that both steps are completed to secure the requested service.
- Once a space becomes available, we will notify the customer via phone call or text message. If we do not receive a response, we will follow up with an email. If there is no communication within five consecutive days, we reserve the right to move forward with the next customer on our list, and the fee will be forfeited.
- Upon notification, we will schedule an appointment for contract signing, payment of the deposit, and review of our standard policies and procedures.
- If you are unable to attend the appointment, please notify us as soon as possible to reschedule. We can only hold the space for up to five business days from the scheduled time, after which we reserve the right to move forward with the next customer on hold, and the fee will be forfeited.
- During enrollment, there is a one-time fee of $50. This fee is credited if the parent has already completed a space reservation. It is essential to understand that this fee is necessary to maintain a solid structure and accurate record-keeping of the services provided throughout the year.
During the second and final appointment, we will complete the enrollment process, including filling out all necessary documentation and addressing any final questions before your child's first day.
You are welcome to bring your child at any time with reasonable advance notice so that they can familiarize themselves with our environment and possibly interact with other children. During the initial tour, parents can explore our daycare facilities, ask questions about our services, and review our certifications."
A child is considered enrolled at the home daycare only after the correct paperwork is filled out and returned, and the registration and tuition fees have been received. The paperwork consists of:
-Parents Handbook Agreement
-Contract and Rate Agreement
-Medical and Immunization Information Record
-Administration and Medical Form
-Child Profile and Information Sheet
-Emergency Consent for Treatment and Transportation
-Infant Feeding Plan
-Nutrition Opt-Out
- Shaken Baby Syndrome Education
-Infant Sleep Sleep Position Waiver
Please ensure that you keep us informed of any changes in addresses, telephone numbers, or other pertinent information listed on any of the forms provided. If you have any questions regarding the completion of these forms, please do not hesitate to ask.
The medical form must be signed by a physician or nurse practitioner within thirty days of admission and updated every as received to ensure the health and safety of all children enrolled at Eureka Time Home Daycare. It is a requirement that all enrolled children be immunized or in the active process of immunization, and proof of current vaccinations must be provided upon enrollment. Any changes to these forms must be reported to the administration immediately.
A two-week security deposit equivalent to the basic weekly rate is required upon enrollment. The first week's deposit covers the initial week of admission, while the second week's deposit is credited towards the last week of daycare if not redeemed during the preceding weeks. Please note that rates may vary if there are late pickups, early drop-ins, or additional services added to your basic daycare plan.
In the event of a delayed payment exceeding one week, the security deposit will be redeemed to cover the cost of the unpaid week. We will make two attempts to remind you that payment is due. If payment is not received within 24 hours after the second attempt, the security deposit will be automatically redeemed. Customers may add a new security deposit for future emergencies, not exceeding two weeks' payment. Refunds will only be issued within 24 hours of the initial transaction; after this period, refunds will not be granted under any circumstances.
A late payment fee of $5.00 per day will be added to the account if a previous week is still outstanding and the security deposit has been redeemed in a previous payment. In the event of a child's illness, full payment is still expected. If any payments are more than 7 days overdue, childcare services will be suspended until the account is brought up to date.
We offer a two-week trial period for any child starting at our daycare to ensure that our services meet the needs of each enrolled child. Children may be disenrolled for non-payment or additional fees. After the two-week trial period, a minimum of one week's notice is required for withdrawal; and the security deposit will be redeemed for the coming last week of service.

Please note that reservations for these special services must be made at least two weeks in advance prior to enrollment and are subject to availability based on caregiver-to-child ratios and staff availability.
Priority among members' services plan changes and/or space availability is based on the active membership plan, enrollment date, and ratio availability. Non-committed members can switch to regular membership if space allows, paying only the difference in initial fees. Members switching plans must complete their current contract. Regular members downgrading to non-committed memberships will not pay enrollment fees within the same year but must renew annually their non-committed contract to avoid new enrollment fees.
All members must adhere to the Parents’ guidebook and keep up with their dues. If Eureka Time LLC and its representatives cannot contact a member after multiple attempts over 30 days, the matter will be referred to the Ohio State municipal court or other agencies to address the issue.
Any adjustments to our service prices will not impact current enrollees for the duration of the current enrollment year. Changes will take effect in the subsequent year. For our pricing model, a year is defined from the date of a child's enrollment until the same date the following year.
Please note that service prices are subject to changes every year on various factors such as the state's current economic impact on the business, market price demand, experience, additional services included, quality service upgrades, etc.
Part-Time Accommodation
At Eureka Time LLC, we prioritize maintaining optimal child-to-staff ratios to ensure the highest quality of care for your child. While our focus is on full-time enrollment to keep costs and ratios manageable, we understand that some families may require part-time care. To accommodate this, we offer flexible scheduling options that allow us to maintain these essential ratios throughout the day. Please note that while part-time rates may be higher, the cost-effectiveness for our daycare lies in maintaining full-time enrollment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain the highest standards of care for all children in our facility.
Our Childcare facilities offer two Scheduling options upon availability:
**Option 1:
Parents can choose a 4-hour daily accommodation between (8 am -8:30 am) to (noon -12:30 pm.)
or (1 pm - 1:30 pm) to (5 pm - 5:30 pm)
**Option 2:
Families seeking a three-day schedule can choose from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm or 11:30 to 5:30 pm.
Keep in mind that these options are adapted to maintain our ratio and can be temporarily adaptable if spaces are not filled.
Non-Committed Members
Non-committed Members are customers who enroll on specific dates, multiple dates, or for a limited period during business hours within a fiscal year. These members must enroll their child as any other member, pay a one-time enrollment fee of $25, and update their documents annually to avoid new enrollment fees. A reservation is completed once the non-member has submitted the enrollment paperwork, paid the enrollment fee, and the deposit or space fee.
For reserving selected days, a full payment is required as a deposit. If reserving a recurrent weekly service plan for a limited time, all rules as applicable to regular members, such as safe deposit, advance payment for the first-week holidays fees, etc. Please review all the parents' guides book for reference. If a non-committed member does not show up for their reserved dates, the deposit payment will still be redeemed to cover the empty space. A part-time price fee will be redeemed instead of the non-committed price for the absence if the non-committed member reschedules within 24 hours of the reserved date(s). No additional payment is needed if they attend as scheduled. Other fees and penalties may apply as per the parents’ guidebook. Failure to pay penalties or service fees will result in the suspension of future services until payment is made.

Diaper changes and Potty Training
It is common for infants and children, up to the age of transitioning out of diapers, to experience diaper rashes and leaks. Various factors such as sensitive skin, food allergies, teething, growth spurts, bowel changes, infections, and illnesses etc. can contribute to these issues.
Parents are required to provide an adequate supply of diapers in their child's backpack, easily accessible for caregivers during busy times. We provide basic supplies such as diaper creams and wipes, but parents are welcome to keep their preferred choice in their backpacks. We will notify to parents when their child is ready for a diaper size upgrade.
If parents fail to provide the appropriate size or an adequate supply of diapers after multiple notifications, we reserve the right to implement penalties or suspensions of the services until the right items are provided.
We offer personalized potty training for children at an additional cost. This service includes a structured record of the child's progress and priority support to ensure successful training. However, it's important to note that potty training progresses at the child's own pace and willingness.
Families who choose not to opt for the add-on potty training service will still receive basic guidance to assist with their child's training at home. However, parents must ensure that their child is willing and capable of participating in the potty activity before they are released from diapers and or request potty assistance. Otherwise, the request will be denied or service will be suspended with the full current payment cycle due.
Some of the requirements for the child to be released of diapers or potty assistance are:
-being able to pull up and down their pants and underwear
-being able to go to the bathroom willingly
-being able to pee and poo in the potty toilet
-being able to hold their pee and poo before arriving at the potty toilet
Pull-up diapers
Pull-up diapers can serve as a convenient temporary solution during the transition period between home potty training and childcare services. However, it's important to note that these diapers are not designed to be removed on a changing table. Prolonged use of pull-up diapers for a child who is not fully trained, or not trained at all, can impact the quality and safety of childcare. Pull-up diapers lack the flexibility to be securely sealed, increasing the risk of exposure to hazardous materials during diaper changes.
Therefore, we encourage parents to initiate potty training practices as soon as their child shows signs of readiness. We will notify parents when their child is ready to begin potty training and discuss available options. Upon receiving an action plan, parents are provided with a timeframe to work with their child at home without disrupting childcare procedures.
In cases where a child outgrows their current diaper size but is not yet ready for potty training, we may make an exception for the use of pull-up diapers. However, this allowance is contingent as long as is not disrupting the childcare environment safety or established routines. Once the child is ready for potty training, parents are expected to diligently train their child to use the potty within a shorter timeframe to avoid additional charges associated with the prolonged use of pull-up diapers.
Attendants, Vacations, Holidays, and Absences
Throughout the calendar year, there will be four weeks of vacation during which the caregiver will be absent, and the daycare facility will be closed. During these periods, payment cycles will be paused. While we can provide a substitute caregiver, please note that the availability and reliability of substitutions cannot be guaranteed.
Parents will receive a four-week advance notice of any planned absences, and we will arrange training for the substitute caregiver beforehand. This training ensures that the substitute is familiar with our childcare protocols and can meet the needs of both children and parents.
Parents will have the opportunity to meet the substitute caregiver during the week preceding the service, providing them with peace of mind and comfort before the administrator's absence.
Please be aware that if a substitute is provided, any children's absences during these periods will no longer be discounted from the weekly services, as the daycare will be actively and properly offering services to our customers and their children.
Caregiver Maternity leave
Caregivers are entitled to a total of 12 weeks of unpaid leave during maternity. This consists of 4 weeks of vacation and an additional 8 weeks of parental leave.
If caregivers have already used 2 weeks of their vacation time, the total maternity leave period will be reduced accordingly, resulting in 10 weeks of maternity leave.
Confirmation of pregnancy will be provided after 12 weeks of expecting. This will not alter the established terms regarding caregiver medical unpaid absences; however, every effort will be made to minimize absences.
We are committed to maintaining open communication throughout any changes before and during pregnancy, and we will make every effort to ensure proper arrangements are in place during these unpredictable times.
Caregivers need to be informed in advance if any families decide not to return after maternity leave. This will allow us to develop a backup plan before regular services resume.
Substitute Assistance
Substitute Service operates as an open group agreement between parents and caregivers. As a private type B Home Childcare facility, we are classified as independent contractors under FMLA in Ohio State. This classification exempts us from providing benefits during maternity leave, sick absences, and limitations on the hiring process for additional help.
Unfortunately, the current system does not provide financial support to cover expenses for substitution and training. The uncertainty of consistent and limited ratios can impact our ability to guarantee this benefit at no extra cost. Type B home childcare owners face challenges when it comes to personal absences which is one of the downsides of a home childcare service vs a center. However, it is always our priority to find a fair solution that treats caregivers and families equally and fairly, regardless of the circumstances.
Substitute service arrangements are subject to the following basic requirements:
- The weekly income from active enrollments must be sufficient to cover the cost of the substitute and business expenses during operational hours. If this requirement is met, operational hours, terms, and conditions will remain as usual.
- Substitution can only occur when the caregiver in charge is near the premises and for a maximum of 14 consecutive days, as stipulated by the Ohio State childcare management program.
Please note that we are not responsible for any agreements made between families for hiring a substitute, nor for any issues arising from the provision of substitute childcare services.
Caregiver personal appointments such as a doctor, administrative, or any other personal absences by the caregiver will be scheduled ahead of time if possible and communicated through the bulletin board or through the parents chat, We will send notifications in advance to remind them and we will be in active communication for any updates. Unfortunately, days of sickness will not be notified in advance due to the unpredictability of the circumstances but we will notify as soon as possible to help parents arrange changes in their schedule. During any of these times in which the daycare is closed, services will be discounted either by the day or total of hours of absence. Please note that if the caregiver’s child is sick and there is no option to keep the child away from the childcare environment, the same sickness rules will apply to the caregiver’s child and the premises will remain closed as safety protocol by the Ohio State Childcare Management Program.
We ask all parents to provide at least 3 weeks' notice before taking any vacation so that we can honor a vacation fee instead of a full weekly payment. A weekly fee of $75 per week will still be due during children's vacation as we are still open for business and this will ensure the hold of your child's spot for their return. If a holiday falls under vacation requested, a payment of $75 plus the holiday payment will be expected.
In the event of illness or absence, the center must be notified by call, or text, before opening hours or before the usual drop-off time. Full tuition is required for absences and illness. In case of emergency in the premises. The caregiver will notify as soon as possible of an early pick-up, The facility will close for the continuing of safety protocols and a partial credit from the reminded hours will be added on the next cycle. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close the daycare due to poor weather conditions. Childcare services will only be suspended if it’s issued by Franklinton County or if several schools and childcare centers are closed near our location. We will also keep in contact with the families about the status and weather conditions. If a closedown occurs due to weather conditions, a payment will still be due. If circumstances should arise, watch television station channel 6 for closing information.
Federal holidays are considered closed by the government agency therefore are paid by clients of Eureka Time LLC. If a federal holiday falls under a weekend, the day off will be rolled over to the nearest weekday and should be part of weekly dues to be paid. In addition to federal holidays, one exeption to a federal holiday which we have included as holiday paid is the (the day after Thanksgiving Day) due to the closure of schools and other state agencies. If a federal holiday falls under a caregiver unpaid vacation, reserved vacations by families, and or caregiver unpaid illness absence, it will still be considered a paid holiday therefore price per that day will be included in the next payment cycle.
Parents Communication
Maintaining open communication with all families is a cornerstone of our approach at Eureka Time Home Daycare. We believe in working collaboratively to ensure the best possible experience for our children and their parents.
Any questions or concerns raised by parents are addressed promptly to ensure uninterrupted service. We provide daily reports detailing feedings, diaper changes, and sleeping schedules. Additionally, we maintain active communication with parents throughout the day via cell phone text, updating them on their child's activities.
Furthermore, we provide milestones reports on child development, highlighting areas that may require attention for further support at home. For sensitive information, parents will be contacted privately for a confidential conversation.
Regular plans and events are shared with parents via our bulletin board, website, or social media page to keep them informed and engaged in their child's daycare experience.
Television
Note that we have a television in the living room space which is now our playground area. However, we understand the impact that screens can have on our children, and for that reason, our primary focus is mostly on our children's learning experience throughout playtime and daily activities that are constantly challenging their creativity. We limit the amount of screen time it's usage to no more than 3 hours a week for children over 2 years old.
Multimedia exposure
Our small business is in constant growth. Our first members' our children and parents are the memory of a beautiful beginning in our written history. A lot of pictures and videos will be taken daily for parents' and business benefits, however, it is important to us for the privacy of our little members, and for that reason, we are not allowed to publish any pictures or videos that show our children face details unless given permission by his parent or legal guardian, we want to make sure that you are aware of.
Arrivals and Departures
Since we are located in a residential area we request our parents to quietly park starting from our home towards Carbone Dr., in the same arrival order and on any available spot that is not blocking home entrances or garbage pick up. Be aware of other parents inside their car and move only when the next car ahead of you leaves. Morning checkups are essential since it help us to identify bruises, scratches, or any skin concerns. We request our parents to give a brief goodbye to their children to speed up the drop-off process for other parents in the waiting line. Parents are also required to bring their children into the house and to sign the child in and out of the clipboard. Any special messages, medications, special pick-up notes, etc. are to be given to the teacher. Children may not be dropped off at the entrance of the house or be sent inside alone. We must be aware of each child's presence before the parent departs. For any communication request, we will set up an appointment or we can be available via email, phone, or social media.
At the time of pick-up, parents must sign the child out of the daycare. No child is permitted to be passed over the playground fence for pick-up or drop-off.
We will only release children to adult persons on the release form provided by the parent. If an emergency arises, the parent must provide a written, signed note permitting the person to pick up their child. We will check the IDs of anyone that we do not recognize. Please let people know about this ahead of time, so they bring their ID and so they are not offended.
We will not release children to anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Emergency contacts will be notified to transport the child home and the police will be notified if necessary.
If there are custody issues involved with your child, you must provide our home daycare with court papers indicating who has permission to pick up the child. Our daycare may deny a parent access to their child without proper documentation.
Supervision Policy
A major responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of each child entrusted to our care. We are alert to the safety needs of their children, anticipate possible hazards, and take necessary appropriate precautionary and preventive measures. Parents must be actively providing the necessary care and basic needs to their children as is our duty to be observant of any anomaly that can put in danger the safety of the children in our care. If parents are negligent in their child’s basic needs we are under a total obligation to report it. Basic needs are but are not limited to:
A balanced meal plan offered
Hygiene standards met
An appropriate behavior redirection.
While our goal is to never leave a child unattended, it's important to acknowledge that, due to the nature of home daycare, we cannot guarantee 100% direct supervision at all times.
To mitigate this risk, we have implemented various measures to minimize the time a child is left unattended. Additionally, we have established a preventive routine to ensure that children are supervised as much as possible, even when we are not physically present beside them.
Some of these measures include:
- Full-room camera coverage to maintain supervision when we are away from the room.
- Adherence to a strict policy of maintaining camera vision at all times when away from the children.
- Ensuring that we are not out of sight of the children for more than 5 to 10 minutes.
- If we need to be outside for more than 10 minutes, we continuously monitor the daycare room by periodically checking in and out.
- Implementation of strict routines that enable us to work with the children under our care while simultaneously managing daily sanitary routines.
Behavior Management
When interacting with children, it is essential to employ age-appropriate behavior management techniques.
At our daycare, we recognize the importance of teaching self-control. To encourage this, we enthusiastically praise and appreciate good behavior. When faced with challenging behavior, we address it by actively listening to the child and engaging in critical thinking, problem-solving, and redirection. In extreme cases, we remind children of the fair consequences of their actions and guide them to a designated calm-down spot, using passive but firm positive reinforcement.
Extreme behaviors such as screaming out of rage or causing harm are not tolerated in our daycare. These behaviors contradict the principle of self-control and do not set a positive example for our children. We urge parents to support us in promoting positive behavior by setting a good example at home and implementing the behavior management techniques we provide.
It is important to note that certain behaviors, such as falls, tantrums, minor conflicts, or unintentional scratches and bruises, are natural parts of a child's development and exploration. Our goal is to equip children with the necessary tools to manage their feelings and behaviors effectively, guiding them to identify and avoid harmful situations as they continue to explore and grow.
We believe that effective behavior management is only possible when we all work together as a team, and we encourage parents to actively participate in this process.
If Misbehavior Continues:
Before addressing a misbehavior is important to identify whether the misbehavior comes from an unrecognized feeling resulting from an emotional impulse or if the child is capable of recognizing the misbehavior and still misbehaving intentionally.
Phase 1:
For the child that was harmed:
1. First aid is given to the child that has been hurt. We clean the area with soap and water if necessary. If the skin is broken Clean it and cover it with a bandage.
2. Parents are notified.
3. The “Incident Notification” form is filled out to document the incident.
For the child that has been hurting:
1. We Help the child to Identify the emotion and explain the cause of their action with simplified vocabulary according to their age,
2. If the child's misbehavior continues intentionally, We firmly use vocabulary to help understand boundaries e.g.: “No, more Biting!”
2. If the misbehavior continues intentionally, The child will be placed in time out for no longer than 1 minute per the child’s age example (one year old, one minute, etc.).
3. A verbal notification will be given to parents to address the incident.
Phase 2:
When Harm Continues:
1. The child will be re-directed away from other children to help prevent any incidents. Will be kept close to caregiver presence.
3. The child will be provided with 101 activities to help address the behavior
4. A written letter will be given together with an action plan and 101 activities explained or practiced with parents to help them address the misbehavior at home.
Phase 3:
When Harm Becomes Excessive:
1. If a child inflicts alarming harm on another child or staff member 2 times in one week (5 working days) in/or where the skin is broken, bruised, or leaves a significant mark, an orientation will be held with both parents' parties individually to discuss an action plan for both children. During this orientation, we will provide tools on how to redirect and prevent certain behaviors at home.
2. If the child inflicts again alarming harm 2 times on another child or staff in one week (5 working days) in/or where the skin is broken, bruised, or leaves a significant mark after Phase 2 is provided, the childcare services will be suspended for 1-week cycle and deposit will be redeemed.
Phase 4:
1. If a child once again inflicts harm to another child or staff member within one week (5 working days) in/or where the skin is broken, bruised, or leaves a significant mark, after suspension. Childcare services will be terminated.
2. If a child, causes harm to anyone after 15 business days, from going through phases 2 or 3, a behavior redirection or phase 1 will be restarted.
If a child harms multiple times in 4 hour period, parents will be required to pick them up from daycare for the remainder of the day. Full payment for the day will still be due.
***Note that missed behaviors like biting, pushing, or fighting are totally common in children as they still don't understand their emotions and their surroundings, that's why our role as parents plays an important part in redirecting this energy and guiding them by setting a good example.
Feedings
Eureka Time provides snacks and drinks to children who can eat solids and drink regular beverages such as water or juice.
During Feeding transitions, we will help parents identify common milestones of readiness as well as a basic guide of proper meals throughout their milestones. We do not recommend to transition to solids before 6 months of age as well as the water intake prior first year of age unless otherwise approved by the child's pediatrician. We always recommend that parents always consult first with their pediatrician before transitioning to further milestones during their first 2 years as their digestive system might not be ready and could incur other complications such as intoxication and other health issues.
For parents who prefer not to send meals with their children, meals can be added at an additional weekly charge. In the event that parents forget to provide meals for their children, the daycare will supply meals at a regular cost per meal, which will be charged in the next payment cycle.
For infants who are not yet consuming solid foods or regular beverages, parents are required to provide prepared formula or frozen breast milk . If supplies are insufficient, the daycare will notify the parent and may use daycare infant formula as needed. A fee of $2.75 per bottle will be added to the next payment cycle in such cases.
It is important to note that we do not provide any food to children other than what is provided by their parents and the snacks included in the service unless a meal plan is included in the weekly cycle. If a child refuses to eat the food provided by their parents, we will notify the parents and suggest bringing foods that the child has enjoyed in the past. We can work on some tactics to convince a child to eat but, under no circumstances will we force a child to eat.
Parents are also required to bring already-cooked meals to reduce the risk of overheating and to minimize the time spent away from their children preparing meals before lunchtime. This helps to reduce the risk of accidents and ensures the safety of all children in our care.
Even when our daycare is not required to be licensed or inspected by the Ohio state government. We challenge ourselves to outstand our quality service as if we were licensed. Our meals comply with the Ohio State Department of Health standards.
Daycare Meal Plan package
Having the opportunity to provide meal to our children not only benefit parents from taking away an additional task from parents list but, it allow us to provide an outstanding diet that is often reflected in our children inmune system and growth. We take pride on selecting mayority of our products to be organic or either the best quality we can find in the market as well as enreaching our meals with ingridients that targets children's nutrients needs. In addition providing meals give us the opportunity to keep much closer to what nutrients the child is lacking of therefore we can custumize our meals according to each child's deficiency.
Our Home-made menu plan package Includes:
- Every meal includes 1 entry, 2 complements, juice, and milk. Ex. Breakfast- oatmeal, hard egg, and banana, Lunch: Mashed sweet potato, sweet peas, and chicken. 2 to 3 ounces of juice and 2 to 3 ounces of milk depending on the children's appetite and age.
- Special request in food and/or milk will have additional cost plus taxes.
Illness
For the safety to all of our members, parents will not bring their child to daycare if he/she presents any symptoms that can compromise the health of other members in the daycare. Daycare payments will not be affected by absence due to illness and will still be due by the end of the week. It is important to keep the daycare updated about illness absence. We can be reached through phone calls during working hours or Text messages if an emergency is happening during nighttime hours. It is important to be informed before the opening of the daycare so we can excuse the child and not expect him/her during the following hours or days.
Some of the symptoms to notify and keep the child at home are:
-Fever 101 F (39.5 C or higher)
-Vomiting
-Diarrhea
-Discharge from eyes or ears
-Head lice
-Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
-unexplained rash
- Coughing until vomiting
- Child fiscally feeling unwell or symptoms of stress on prolonged hours (excessive crying, whining, or other behavior that will inhibit the child from experiencing the programs)
-Contagious Illness of any sort

We reserve the right to accept a child that exhibited symptoms at a minimum in the last 24 hours depending on the illness. If a child exhibits any of the previous symptoms we will quarantine the child from the rest and we will immediately call the parent to pick up the child, the child can return to the daycare in 24 hours or up to 3 days depending on the symptoms, and if the temperature is back to normal. Children can come back with a mild cold after being high temperature clear for over 24 and mucus is Clear or white. Medication must be handed directly to the care provider during the check-up, and never put in the child's bag.
In case of a care provider's Illness or their child, we will do our best to notify the parents as soon as possible but, It is not our responsibility to find a substitute since this is not center-y and doesn't count with additional employees. It is your responsibility to have an alternate contact who can take care of the child during emergencies. Payment will not be due for the days that a care provider is absent due to illness in the house.
Emergencies
A map is posted on the left side of the stairs behind the playground room. We have identified the exit doors from the house and directions to evacuate the premises. Parents will be contacted as soon as possible to come to pick up their children. All working members of the daycare are CPR and First Aid certified and will take immediate action upon the situation presented. If the emergency is beyond CPR or first Aid capabilities we will proceed to call 911 emergencies and then contact their parents to let them know the status. We will administer medications to a child only after the parent completes a Request for Medication form. Parents must sign a release form stating that they are permitting their child to have access at all times to their inhalers. We reserve the right to decline any children into our daycare from parents who decline to sign any needed documentation for us to take immediate action or to just provide any special care to their child.
Property Damage
It can happen at any time:
• A child breaks or damages personal items of the provider (chair, eyeglasses, walls etc)
• A parent damages and item, furniture, equipment, property etc.
Accidents happen, but sometimes the damage is more than you bargained for.
For that reason, parents will be expected to pay for excessive damage caused by their child or their actions to the provider’s property unless it is neglected by the care provider.
this will not include the normal tear or wear of toys.
Sanitation and Disinfection
Our hygiene practices are based on the Ohio state health standard requirements established for Type B home daycares. In addition to the basic requirements, we put additional effort into certain practices that can help to exceed the expectations of a regular home daycare.
Our cleaning products for disinfecting and sanitizing the areas where children spend most of their time are plant-based or free from harsh chemicals, to protect our children's health. We sanitize/ disinfect toys and surfaces daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed to prevent the spread of illnesses between children. We vacuum the carpets weekly and shoes are not allowed to enter the daycare rooms so we can give the freedom to our infants to crawl around the daycare rooms. During meals, we have a small space in the kitchen to place high chairs and toddler tables for meal time. Our baby bottle soap and dishwasher soap are free of phosphate and parabens. We follow a strict routine that allows us to maintain a sanitary routine without leaving our children unattended for long periods of time. Our detergents used in cloth utilities are hypoallergenic, plant-based as well as chemically reduced for the safety of our children's skin.
Pickups
Parents need to notify pick-up timing if picking up earlier than 530 p.m. in order for us to have their child changed and backpack organized. Our term for “child changed and clean” basics are:
Diaper and clothing changed (if needed)
Face cleaned
BackPack ready.
It is the parent's responsibility to bring their child or children hygienically up to the standards. as it could incur negligence and child endangerment, for the lack of basic hygiene needs at home. We reserve the right to refuse to provide a service and or report any situation to social services that we consider could be harmful to a child.
Basic needs are:
-Bathed
-Teeth brushed
-Nails clipped
-Basic hair care
- Dressed adequately for the occasion and seasons
- Rested
- Nutritional meal plan according to the Ohio State and Health Department (if opted out for a meal plan)
Assessment
Children will be formally assessed upon entering the program and annually thereafter. Children who are not meeting development milestones will be notified to parents for them to consult with their pediatrician and or find resources for any diagnosis and/ or intervention. It is legal guardian responsabilities to follow up with the assessment provided by our care experts, as we do not take responsability on children who overly stressed from not being able to receive any source of special care. We reserve our right to discontinue any if a childs needs are not addressed properly.
Outdoors & Special Activities
Research has shown that children stay healthier when they have daily outdoor play. Based on this information and state requirements, outdoor play will be included in our program on a daily basis. It is required by the Ohio state that children should have reasonable outdoor time every day during childcare services. We will limit the amount of time if temperatures are too hot or cold. Please send your children in the proper clothing, so they may be comfortable and safe whenever we are outdoors. This includes hats, mittens, snow pants, and boots during the winter, lightweight pants, bug spray, Sun protecting hats during the summer, lightweight sweaters shirts with long sleeves, and pants that can protect the child during fall or spring weather.
We will have a few outing activities within walking distance throughout the year. During these events, activities will be planned ahead of time and agreed upon by all parties. We will provide information that will help and guide our parents during these situations. Parents must sign a field trip permission form before the event. We will carry emergency kits, beverages, snacks for the children, and other needed items to maintain hygiene between children.
Water activities will be provided in the summer, A care provider will be with them at all times during these activities. Parents will be provided with special permission slips.
